Statue of Liberty Rap

Hey, Statue of Liberty,

funky lady with spiky hair,

do you really care about me?

Have you got a place for me,

a home, job, security?

You look at me as if to say,

Maybe, but it won’t be easy,

it’s up to you, not me,

to make your way.

Take That Rap

A playful rap, playing with the word ‘take”.

Hier ein Auszug:

Take that and that

and that and that,

take that!

Take a vacation,

take a dip,

take a flight,

take a trip.

Take a course,

take a test,

take an exam,

take a rest.

Take a bus,

take a plane,

take a walk,

take a train.

The IM Rap

I M,

I am,

IM,

I am,

I M,

I am,

IM,

I am,

IM,

that’s me,

instant messaging constantly.

SMS Blues rap

Texting is fun,

it’s hit and run,

I pick and choose

the messages

I can use.

Pick out the best,

ignore the rest,

that’s the way,

only 24 hours

in a day.

Friends?

They’re not far away,

right here on my display

Hey, you Man Rap

1

Hey you, man!

I said You Man!

Are you looking for a life,

a human life?

I mean a really human life?

2

Many roads lead to Rome,

lead you home,

the question is

what is home,

what is human?

Does anybody know?

Global Warning Rap

The USA has 50 states,

21 end with the letter ‘a’!

Say:

Alabama,

Alaska,

Arizona,

California!

Florida,

Georgia,

Indiana,

Iowa!

Louisiana,

Minnesota,

Montana,

Nebraska!

North Carolina,

South Carolina,

North Dakota,

South Dakota!

Nevada,

Oklahoma,

Pennsylvania,

Virginia!

And – last but not least -                West Virginia!

Between a Rock and a hard Place

This is the true story of Aron Ralston, the young American mountaineer who was stuck fast in a canyon when, in a bizarre accident, a boulder fell on his hand.

Ralson weaves the breathtaking account of the five days he remained a captive of the rock into the story of what came before and led up to that fateful incident, interspersing the hour-by-hour account of his captivity with flashbacks about his life and career as a mountaineer and explorer.

Another brilliant strand of his story is his reconstruction of the reaction of his family and friends to the news that he was missing. He traces that reaction from initial shock to the selfless efforts made to find him.

But most of all, the story concentrates on the inner journey of a man overwhelmed  by a seemingly superior power – the ninety kilograms of rock – and forced to experience the slow but sure loss of his physical strength. With very little water and almost no food, Ralson gradually succumbs to a trancelike state in which vivid hallucinations increasingly take over his mind. Although his will to survive is incredibly strong, he reaches a point where he realizes that he will soon die, and resigns himself to his fate.

What happens after that is the stuff of heroism, a mind-blowing story of what the human spirit is capable of achieving in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.

Extreme Sport Rap

No risk, no fun,

so the saying goes,

Ha! What a dumb saying!

I get my kicks with my feet

on the ground,

safe and sound.

4000 feet high,

ten below zero,

freezing my ass off

on the side of a mountain

is not my idea of fun,

no way, man.

No ice axe,

no karabiner for me.

No thanks,

I’ll stay right here!

Does that make me a wimp?

I don’t think so,

do you?
