My Star Guest
Jeremy Taylor, writer of graded school readers. To learn more about him, check out his website: www.jeremytaylor.eu
Hello, Jeremy. Can you tell us a little about what you’re doing at the present time?
J: I’m working for NILE. That’s the Norwich Institute for Language Education. I’m working as a teacher trainer with some wonderful teachers from all over the world.
What can you say about your upcoming book ‘Luke’?
J: Not too much at the moment as it hasn’t been published yet. I finished it about a month ago and the few people I’ve shown it to have been impressed so I think it could be something special.
Do you have plans for future projects?
J: Where do I start? I think that e. books will become increasingly important and I want to be ready as the world slowly accepts them. I would hate to curl up with something electronic, I still want a book, but there are many things an e. book can do that a regular book can’t do. Watch this space. Away from work I would love to do more travelling – and would love to visit Argentina. There is so much to see in such a long country.
Who are your favorite comedians?
J: Victoria Wood is probably one of my favourites, though not many people outside Britain will have heard of her. I also like British radio comedy like ‘The Now Show’ and ‘I’m sorry I haven’t a clue’ – which can heard on radio 4 online.
What are your five favorite songs of the past year?
J: Gulp, I hope you aren’t asking me for five songs produced in the past year…Songs that have come to my attention in the last year are:
- Jack Johnson: Good People
- Pink: Dear Mr President
- Christine Aguilera: Beautiful
- Tchaikovsky’s Barcolle
- Green Day: No particular song but I saw a programme about their music and was impressed with their enthusiasm and passion – and the music wasn’t bad either.
Thanks a lot, Jeremy!
P.S. My next star guest is Dr. Annette Schavan!
